Holiday Crowd inside Mysore Palace

The Amba Vilas palace, popularly known as “Mysore Palace” is the primary destination for any tourist to Mysore. In fact, it is very rare to miss the sight of the Palace while exploring the city. As a tourist destination, the Mysore city is crowded during the weekends and public holidays. This apart, during the school holidays, the palace absorbs so much people making the movement dead slow.

If you have no option but to visit the palace during these days, consider going there early morning as soon as the gates open. Even a little delay will delay your exit from the palace and will lower your pleasure of exploring heritage property.

The tourists are lucky now, they can carry camera inside. I had to deposit my camera at the counter when I visited the palace a year ago. The decision to allow the camera inside has only slowed the movement of people inside the palace.

While I appreciate allowing photography inside the palace, the authorities should come up with an idea to ease the congestion.

Well, if you are visiting the palace for the first time, do not miss the “palace lights” after dark during the weekends. It is magnificent and worth a selfie with its background.

This weekend I did a solo ride to Mysore and returned with good collection of photographs. I managed to capture the Mysore Palace with millions of lights on. I will be posting it in this blog very soon. Meanwhile look into places to visit in Mysore
