Germany leading for coronavirus vaccine

CureVac Coronavirus Vaccine

The coronavirus vaccine is going to be reality very soon. Germany might be the first country to release it!

At the end of January 2020, Germany’s research minister Anja Karliczek said she expected a vaccine for coronavirus in a few months. She announced it after the biopharmaceutical company CureVac AG and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) announced that they were working together to develop a vaccine against the novel coronavirus.

Rumor is that US President Donald Trump wanted to buy the exclusive rights to the potential vaccine developed by the German biotech company. Not sure if it is true or false but Germany wouldn’t sell it. The Germany’s foreign minister said the coronavirus vaccine research will not be for sale.

The US government is working with several companies to develop coronavirus vaccine. These companies have received some seed funding from US investors.

The officials denied that US was trying to keep any potential vaccine for itself. They said “any solution would be shared with the world”.

Meanwhile, the Germany biotech company CureVac stated “we are very confident that we will be able to develop a potent vaccine candidate within few months”. We will not sell the vaccine to a “Single State”.

If we are successful in developing an effective vaccine, then it should help and protect people across the world – said Dietmar Hopp, head of principal investor Dievini Hopp Biotech Holdings
