The Guinness World Record team drove a 24.97-ton truck over the Casio G-Shock DW5600E-1. The G-Shock became the first watch being able to withstand the challenge.

Luckily, we have video of it from Casio’s official YouTube channel and it’s real.

There is also an interesting story about the G-Shock watches…

The American division Casio released a commercial in which ice hockey player used the DW-5000C as a hockey puck to demonstrate the toughness of the watch. However, the commercial gained negative publicity and Casio was accused of false advertising.

A team from a TV news channel conducted a live test on the DW-5000C to check whether it was as tough and durable as advertised. They did exactly what was shown in the commercial. The DW-5000C survived the impact of the hockey stick and G-Shock gained popularity among the general public. Its popularity increased tremendously.

By 1998, Casio released more than 200 G-Shock models with worldwide sales at 9 million units. By September 2017, Casio had shipped 100 million G-Shock watches worldwide.

That’s all in this post, I will come up with more interesting stories so remember this blog. Did you know G-Shock stands for Gravitational Shock? Read that post, it is very interesting. You may also be interested in more posts about Casio G-Shock Watches.. I am following on latest releases.
